Extra clear glass is usually provided in 2mm thickness for picture framing applications. Its absorption ranges to 0.5%, which, compared to the absorption of clear glass (2%), results to better light transmission than the latter one.

Extra clear glass provides around 91.5% light transmission and 8% reflection.

The most significant advantage of extra clear glass is its reduced green tint, which is a usual characteristic of the rest types of transparent glass.
